Anita McLaren

After a career in nursing, and having seen the family
of three fly the nest (eventually), Anita started painting in 1999. She studied
at Strathclyde University with Pheona Kerr and later
with Neil MacDonald of Glasgow School of Art. She has been very involved with
the Helensburgh Art Club and is the current Vice President. (www.art.helensburgh.info)
Her initial focus on West Coast scenes stemmed from
hours afloat, cruising the Clyde and Inner Hebrides. She still finds her main inspiration
from travelling within Scotland
in her beloved campervan, but also enjoys painting people and small children -
(having a plentiful supply of beautiful grandchildren to inspire her).
She has exhibited in many exhibitions in the West of
Scotland and also at the Pink Gallery, the Jerdan Gallery in Crail, the Lemond
Gallery in Bearsden and the Atholl Gallery in Dunkeld.
